Whatever the sponsor (industry or academia), ACT4ALS-MND can provide support at every stage of a project: scientific expertise and methodological support, feasibility study, financial evaluation, initiation in centres, follow-up and recruitment, promotion of results.
ACT4ALS-MND is an exclusive way for sponsors (academic and industrial) to access:
- The clinical and methodological expertise of network members when designing trials.
- New research projects of interest: supervised by the FilSLAN network and following the guidelines of its scientific committee, ACT4ALS-MND is also initiating research projects (for example FilSLAN-NF, which aims to assess the value of serum neurofilament tests for the positive diagnosis of ALS in cases of diagnostic failure).
- Support for investigation:
- Feasibility study of trials in ALS-MND expert centres.
- Facilitation of centre-selection processes.
- Regular contact with study coordinators (clinical research associates, clinical research nurses) and centre doctors, thus monitoring the recruitment of patients for the studies. Among other things, this monitoring makes it possible to assess whether patients are being properly recruited into studies and, if necessary, to understand any problems that may occur and slow down their inclusion in trials. - Administrative support: regulatory processes, evaluation of budget line items, etc.
The aim of administrative and investigative support is to speed up clinical research and increase the number of patients enrolled in clinical trials in France.
